FIRST: The precious editor of this page seems to forget where he goes to school. He would like all of you to think he is a HUSKER, but in fact he is a REBEL, an OLE MISS REBEL, and the sad thing is, he cant stand it. He would love to be part of the HUSKER student body, in Lincoln every weekend cheering for a once great power that is no longer, and attempting to make 9-2 seem ok. That team will never be as great as it was in the mid-90s. Yes GREAT. They were a team with a game plan that was very simple and easy to understand. Everyone on new what was coming and no one could stop it. Sadly the days of student body left and speed option right are over. To win in the college game you must be balanced, and poor Nebraska is not. Were it not for a week schedule and unbelievable talent, that team would be scrambling for 7-4, and Mrs. Solich would be shopping for a nice pine box, were she could store what is left of Coach Solich. BOTTOM LINE TYLER: NO MORE NATIONAL TITLE UNTIL YOU GET AN ARM AND SOME WIDEOUTS. A defense wouldnt hurt either.
SECOND: My beloved Irish are finally back in the national spotlight where they belong. After suffering through seven long years, the Irish are back to their old ways. Solid defense, no turnovers, and athletes who seem to be able to run back touchdowns on kickoffs, but cant catch a cold. Special teams and defense are what made the Irish a powerhouse in the 80s, and they got away from that in the nineties, when they thought some quarterback with endless potential was ready to lead the Irish to 4 national titles and a few Heisman trophies. NICE TRY IRISH. Didnt really work out. Davie realized that if he was going to win at Notre Dame, hed better get athletes he can teach to tackle and run back kickoffs. GREAT JOB COACH. |
