Bio
In 1997, Hitomi was chosen out of around 200 other girls at a Japan music audition hosted by music label Avex Trax. Hitomi was casted and received a contract.
In 1999, after finishing school Hitomi released her first single called "?saka no onna", an enka-styled song (songs for old people). The single won awards, but it sold poorly. In 2000 she released her second single called "Kaihoku", which was j-pop song. Hitomis success didn't come until the release of the third single called "Papillon", a Japanese version of Janet Jackson's song "Doesn't Really Matter".
