Head Harbour Lighthouse from Bliss Island

Bliss Island lies a protected, three kilometer paddle from the Government dock at Limekiln Bay. Long ago ancient natives lived on this island gathering clams, periwinkles and all sorts of other seafoods. Ancient mounds of  shells exist here that were created by these peoples and indicate their long stays on the island. These encampments have attracted the attention of local universities which have undertaken archaeological digs at the sites. Details of these digs can be found at the small museum at  Greens Point Lighthouse.
