| The Brute (Brazil) While I don't exactly know what company made it the brute is basically a carbon-copy of any other nelson based gun. While not remarkable in any respect it's all steel construction makes it suprisingly rugged, oddly enough I got it after castle conquest XX from *69 who I guess got it from someone else at some point. makes me think it must be one of those 'family guns'. You know the type the ancient gun that everyone hands down to the new guy it wasn't working when I got it but it sure as hell works now. Who knew three washers behind the bolt over the power assembly would be all this relic needed. In any event I'd have to say this thing is about 3lbs, has a 4 BPS capacity (maybe), and has the odd characteristic of notoriously double loading and firing two shots instead of one. While at it's age it is reasonably unrelaible it is still one heck of a peice of pump-action equipment. It still works and when it doesn't it requires 'tough love' namely slapping it against some thing hard to smack everything back into alignment. Maintenance Notes: The Brute is held together by all of four easily unscrewed bolts, two for the pump itself and the two that hold the body and trigger together as well as bolting in all the firing mechanisms of which oddly there are suprisingly few. While the innards are as simple as can be this gun seems to have a misfiring issue which has yet to be resolved but then this may be resulting from the integrated ball detent. Rating 4 out of 5 |

| Update! After a short conversation with Star it turns out he got this thing on ebay somewhere, while he didn't know who actually made the brute doesnt even matter it's a clone design. Other then that theres little information availible on it. Update 2 After a short bit of research it turns out tnat a company called Paintball mania design made the brute and it's attempted revision known as the Brute II. All information still supports the old information saying it's brazilian in origins. The year of manufacture is unknown however I would have to guess it's a mid 80's design due to it's similarity to certain markers of the time. |
