On March 10, 2006, Sam Applegate, 13, was playing basketball in the evening when 'A black sedan' drove past and someone in the car shot a paintball that hit Sam in the eye, causing serious damage. A guard shack and homes were also shot. Anyone with information on who did this should immediately contact the sheriff's department at 714.628.7170."
You know I bet it was a bunch of lower teens with a an older teen who were responsible for two reasons, firstly the last paintball drive-by that occurred that I remember was four teens in a car who drove around NY doing the same idiotic thing in the 90's and every single incident I hear of that involves this sort of thing is always kids too young to own a paintball gun. Look at the incident with the exploding tank, or a few months back the kid who failed to bag his gun and shot himself in the eye after looking down the barrel. More recently these two videos were put in the net featuring�surprise kids playing with paintball guns that were obviously not 18 or older.

Honestly what the hell are these jackasses thinking if they�re even capable of thinking at all? Shooting paintball guns is in of it self hazardous but doing it at a person without proper safety gear is plain stupid. What if the ball swerved in either video and hit something important? Do these little fuck-heads even think? Of course not well not until someone ends up at the hospital and the news crews are there and the parents are acting idiotic and blaming the paintball guns for something their retarded kid did to him or herself. I hate to say it but if stupidity on this scale keeps happening eventually there might be licensing requirements for those of us who play which sucks big time especially if a license is required for each marker owned. For some older players the idea of getting something like 63 licenses is a nightmare. But incidents like this happen where an innocent victim is involved in another�s astounding stupidity. |

I honestly feel sorry for the kid, what did he do to deserve that? The shooter is plainly a moron and this is just more bad press for the game itself. Bad press the game does not need at all.
What I�m saying is that paintball isn�t a forgiving game to play, stupidity quickly eliminates itself and cheaters and jerk wads tend not to be tolerated. Anyone under 18 needs supervision and preferably should not be given or be allowed to buy a paintball gun. However parents need to get off their butts and step up to the plate for once, stop saying ok to your kids whenever they whine about what they want oh which reminds me, Parents? STOP BUYING YOUR KIDS THE MOST EXPENSIVE GUNS OUT THERE. I�m serious, it�s getting almost comical the sheer amount of kids running around with the high end markers and some fantasy idea of how the game should be played which usually conflicts with the rules and the actual way the game is played. Not only that but it tells the makers of paintball guns like the Angels and Ion to make more expensive makers �cause the same stupid folks will buy them.
Despite what the media seems to indicae for every irresponcible use of a paintball gun there is thirty repsoncible uses and or users to match, the media does like to focus in the negative details of everything, thanks to the invention of sensationalism which sells airtime and newspapers. If your out there taking everythign the News says with a grain of salt congratulations, for the rest of you; you suck harder then Micheal Bolton's music and hairstyle.
