The Smoke Jumper by Nicholas Evans is a great book containing all the essentials: adventure, action, love, lust, guilt, tragedy...dare I go on. Written by the acclaimed author of The Horse Whisperer this book continues to paint vivid and heartwarming portraits of its characters, physical environment and human nature in a nearly 500 page fiction novel.

This story focuses on two friends, Connor and Ed, who are daring "smoke jumpers" - those firefighters who parachute into the action of forest fires. Unfortunately, Connor falls for Ed's girlfriend, Julia, and more tragedy, guilt, and emotional grappling ensue as the characters face adversity, global adventure and heartache.
