A Radio Shack

Two Tracks to your first Ham Radio License

For many years the Novice license was the entry route for most newcomers to Amateur Radio. The Technician License was usually the next step up for many radio amateurs.
The Technician License has now become the favorite entry level license for most newcomers. In fact, today there are more Technician License than anyother license class. Effective February 14, 1991, FCC removed the Morse code requierment for obtaining a Technician License.
The Technician Exam includes the Novice written exam and a slightly more technical exam covering electronics and radio theory along with questions about the Federal Communications Commission(FCC) rules and regulations.
