Meet Mrs. Fitch and her family!
Click here to learn more about me as you enjoy my blinkies!
This is my adorable husband who has learned to live with a  teacher and her desire to always spend money at  the the "teacher store".
These are my children, my step-daughter who is 11 and my daughter  who is 7(going on 40)!
Who is Mrs. Fitch?
Professional: I am a teacher of 9 years.  This will be my sixth year teaching at TCP World Academy.  I am a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene College in northern Ohio with a BA in Elementary Education. I have also earned my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix.   I was recently honored by being named in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers for 2005. My philosophy of education includes  the belief that all children are capable of learning and achieving great success in school.  Knowing that each child is different and learns in various ways, I incorporate many useful techniques in my teaching.  I use a lot of hands-on activities, small group instruction, and literacy centers,  which allow students to retain information easier.  I believe that children learn better when they have made a discovery on their own instead of me simply telling them.  I demand excellence in all that is done in the classroom and am constantly challenging each and every child to go beyond "what they think they are capable of doing".  I will not accept any child settling for less than his/her very best.

Personal: I am a native of the Cincinnati area, growing up in the small town of Bethel.  I spent several years after college traveling throughout the U.S.  I have lived in Washington, D.C. and Seattle, WA.  My husband, Lee, and I have been married for 8 years and have two beautiful girls, Kimberly and Savannah.  My family and I spend a lot of time shopping at yard sales, visiting grandma and grandpa, going to the park, reading, and watching The Disney Channel.  Here is a list of some of my favorite things:
children's author - Chris Van Allsburg
children's book series - Harry Potter, The Magic Tree House
adult author
- Sandra Brown
TV shows
- Survivor,Trading Spaces, Everybody Loves Raymond
music
- country
movie
- While You Were Sleeping
hobby
- surfing the Internet and working on my web page

Please know that I am always open to suggestions and comments.  Becoming a parent drastically changed my view of teaching.  I treat each student as if they were my own and teach them in the way that I hope my own children are being taught.  I can be contacted at the school during school hours, by sending a note with your child, or
by email.  I consider it a priviledge to teach your child and will do my best to see that he or she learns the skills needed  for third grade in a positive, caring, and safe environment.
