2000 REASONS
This work addresses issues of Aboriginal land values. European ideas of the land include divisions, seeing it as something that produces food for the table, something that is seperate and to be used. Aboriginal people have a very different view

Landscape as Tradition and Metaphor 1999

I made a series of computer generated drawings that incorporate photographs, words and pieces of tablecloth that I de-constructed, by picking out the fibres...this to me speaks of the situation of Aboriginal people in Australia, their heritage has been picked appart by colonialisation and European influence, and a skeleton remains.

I like to use beauty in my work, as this draws in the viewer, who may then notice a deeper undercurrent of meaning.
I am also interested in the idea of what is a traditional way of looking at landscape, and playing on that idea as computer generated art forms are not widely accepted by mainstream audiences yet.
