| Cross Band Repeat: 1.Cut R122 Notes: The microphone is LIVE in this feature! You can disconnect the microphone. However, the audio is low. What I do is lay the microphone over the speaker. NEVER crossband 2 repeaters!!! Enabling Crossband repeat: 1.Press the "F" (Orange function) key 2.Press the "A.B.C." key within 5 seconds from step 1. The dots will light in the decimal location on the MAIN band. Disable the 3 minute timer for transmit: 1.Remove R122 Out-of-Banding: Notes: This radio already recieves from 138-170MHz on VHF and 438-449.995MHz on UHF. The radio can transmit out of band. I will not post that mod because I feel most Hams don't need it. This one of Kenwood's first dual band radios. Moding it for out of band operation degrades the performace in the Amatuer Bands. This was a problem with early broadband radios. |
