Extended Receive:
1.Turn the radio off.
2.Hold the "SP" and "Up Scan Arrow" buttons at the sametime as you turn the radio back on.
3.Don't release for 5 seconds.
4.You are done!

Notes:
1.This was already done to my radio when I baught it new from Amateur Electronic Supply!
2.This modification is permanent.

Personal Reconmendations:
This radio "eats" batteries. The rechargibles don't last very long. The alkaline batteries only last on a few transmissions when the radio is on high! I use Radio Shack's Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries. They last a very looong time! Enfact I reconmend these batteries for ALL HT's.
