The Tom Trott Memorial Forestry Museum
My Dad wanted to help build a Museum at Elkwater to show visitors how Forestry was done and what equipment was used in 'the old days'. He did not get the chance to do this himself, so his friends and co-workers built this site and named it in his honour. The museum was opened on July 19, 1997, one week before Tom's grandson, Kevin, was born. I was in England at the time, but my Mom and brother attended the opening ceremonies.
This plaque appears on the sign on the museum grounds. It details his life in the Army as well as his career in the Forestry and Parks Departments of Alberta.
