| Gareth Gates - Ordinary Superstar?! Is that really Gareth busking on the streets? We're finding out if he'd still sing for his supper... or rather order room service! Gareth, we're putting you to the test. Convince us you're still ordinary! I still do loads of normal things! I go to the supermarket to do my food shopping, go to my local video hire shop, and I still have to go to my local shop for a paper and milk! I'm very ordinary! Oh yeah? What did you get up to last night? I just went out for a curry with some friends. Well, that's quite ordinary, but what's the most superstar thing you've done lately? Going up the red carpet at any awards show is pretty superstar, I suppose. I really enjoy doing that, 'cause it gives me a chance to meet some of my fans... although it's always manic! Have you ever been busking? Never, but I often give them money. Some are really talented. Not the ones with one guitar string! What would be your busking song? Evergreen. Ha! Ha! Actually. Yesterday by The Beatles is my favourite song, so that would be included somewhere in the bunch of songs I'd sing. Do you ever ask your mum to tape a TV show you're on, in case you miss it? Absolutely! It's good to record them - and it would be nice to show to my kids one day! Does she still tell you off? Definitely, but that's cool. It's nice to know that some things in life never change! Bless! So does she cook and clean for you, too? Yeah, I love it when she comes to see me. She cooks my dinners, does my laundry and makes sure I catch up on my sleep! What? We bet you never slob around the house! On a typical day off, I'll stay in bed until about 2pm, 'cause I'm shattered! But I'm not the sort of person who likes to hang around the house doing nowt. Do you feel like you ought to work out down the gym now? I've had lots of success without havibg big muscles, but I do wanna make what I've got look a bit more toned! Do you still go to the movies? The last time I went was the premiere of S Club's Seeing Double, but if I'm just going to see a film with my mates, I'll queue up with everyone else! (See you down the Odeon then Gareth!- The Ed.) Do you still get starstruck? I would be if I saw Elvis (Erm, not likely!) or Michael Jackson! Would you pose nude if you were offered a million pounds? I couldn't possibly pose naked! Not for all the money in the whole world wide! Do you worry about what's gonna be in the papers after a night out? I'm not like, 'Oh no, I'm in the papers! But I don't know why they have to make such a big deal out of it. How do you get rid of people who only want to know you 'cause you're famous? I just tell them I'm not interested. People who I am interested in have my number. If I'm not, I don't give them my number! Can you go shopping without being mobbed these days? I have to wear my hat and a scarf over my face (Even in the summer?!- The Ed.), but other than that, it's cool! Do you have to turn off some kind of 'superstar switch' when you get home? I don't think I really have a superstar switch to turn on or off! When I'm working, it's true that I'm Gareth Gates, the pop star, but I'm still completely myself. (And we can confirm that, readers!- The Ed.) Sometimes it is nice to get home and just relax in front of the telly though! Would you like to do something really superstar, like opening your very own restaurant? I'd love to branch out, but I don't have any plans to at the moment. I'm going to do one thing at a time!
