My AFI Experience!

July 3rd,2003, Ottawa,On, Canada, was a day I may never forget for as long as I live. It was the day I met AFI and saw them live. 11:30 in the morning, me, and my friends Melinda and Jess, went downtown to a local CD store called Record Runner. At that same store, AFI was goin to be signing autographs at 2 PM. We waited in line for about an hour and a half. At 2 o'clock, they were almost ready to start letting people in, and thats when Jade walked by just out of the blue, he walked right by the line up of kids waiting patiently to meet AFI and thats when i started getting excited. The line started moving, and when we got closer to the store, Melinda and I went up to the window to look in and see if we could see anything, the band was right there signing autographs, and we just watched them, and then Adam noticed us, he looked at us and stuck his tongue out at us, I waved at him, and Melinda stuck her tongue out back at him. When we finally got inside, I went up to the table with my Very Proud of Ya CD liner notes. Hunter was the fist to sign it, as he was signing it, I told him I thought he was an awesome bassist (I'm a bassist too)even though he probably already knew that. He said thanks. Next was Adam, he said hi to me, and he looked at me, i think he was expecting me to compliment him too, but i just asked him how he was and he said he was good. Jade signed my liner notes and i thanked him, and Davey did the same, and I thanked him too. Then my friend Jess asked them if we could get pictures of them, they said ok, and i got one quick pic before the Record Runner guy made us leave. I was kinda dissapointed that I didn't get a chance to talk to them more, I'm a very shy person, so I didn't know what to say. I was still thrilled thought that I had gotten the chance to meet them, and and I couldn't wait for the show that night. Later that night, we got to the venue, and got in line, the line up was excruciatingly long, and we were near the end of it, luckily though, some of our friends were at the front of the line, so we just got in line with them and we got in right away. This first band that played, The Static Age, kinda sucked, they just didn't play my kinda music. The second band, The Explosion, were much better, they were good to mosh to. When AFI came on, me, and Jess and Melinda's boyfriend Kent pushed our way to the front, it took awhile, but by the end , there was only one person between me and the baracades, I was close enough. I had given Kent my camera to take pictures cause he's taller than me, but he mostly took pictures of Davey, not that I'm complaining, but I wanted pictures of the whole band...AFI put on a really awesome show. They played almost all my favourites. When they played Cruise Control, I was screaming the chorus at the top of my lungs, and I think I scared Kent. Davey did a front flip into the crowd and Melinda says she touched his foot. The show was amazing. After the show, we were waiting outside for my friend Sophie's dad to come pick her up, when a van drove by and some guy said Bye to us. Then I suddenly realised it was Jade. Then van was stopped at a red light, so me and Jess ran to light lights and yelled, "WE LOVE AFI!!"  and we started screaming, and Jade smiled and waved at us. That was the best part of the whole night, the night I'll never forget. Okay, whoa that was the crapiest thing I've ever written, and I wouldn't be surprised if you were laughing at me right now, so I apoligize for my crappy writing ablility.
