An explanation or background information on some of the poems that you can read here: :: Granville :: When we moved into our new home, we soon discovered that we lived with a ghost (and I am NOT kidding you). I wrote this for some online contest that I didn't win, nor can I remember the name of it. Granville was my grandfather's name and I believe it to be his ghost. The poem is based on a true encounter I had with him. :: Through Midnight Streets :: This is one of those poems that I've been itching to write for ages and finally got round to it. It's based on a line from William Blake's "London" in which the words "Through midnight streets" are used. It was originally very spiritual, but I have no idea how it got to be so dark when it got onto paper. :: Poppyfield (Rememberance) :: Written the day after Rememberance Day, I was sitting at my desk staring blankly at my red paper Poppy, just thinking about why they chose the violent colour of red to represent heroes' deaths. This is what happens when I get really bored and philosophical. :)
