Hey there Key Clubbers It's your historian, Aaron and I just wanted to write an article about this recent trip I made Some of you know that I have a sister, her name is Ariane and she used to go to Gunderson and now, she just moved into and is now currently attending the University of The Pacific up in Stockton. When my family and I visited her I was so happy to see that there was a Circle K there. Circle K is basically a Key Club for colleges. The members work together to help make a difference in society, just like what we do. I was lucky enough to talk to the Circle K president, her name is Minda DeGuzman, a former Independence High School student. While I was there, I interviewed her and asked a couple of questions to kind of get acquainted with the activities they do, and also get some information on Circle K. The Circle K of UOP is a part of the Capitol Division of Circle K which is also a part of the Cali-Nev-Ha region, (which we are a part of that consists of California, Nevada and Hawaii). Other schools that are part of this division are U.C. Davis, Sacramento State, University of Nevada Reno. Just like us, Circle K also participates in local community service activites such as visiting the children's ward and decorating it during the holidays and also helping them out from time to time. Circle K also has Divisional Council Meetings just like Key Club does (By the way our DCM is coming up soon, you guys should come) Though their club consists of only 23 members, they are still able to make a difference in the world, which proves that even a small group of people can make a difference. But if you think about it, our club has over 3 times as much members, and if everyone participates in at least one event, imaging the difference our club can make in the world. Well guys, that's all for now, till next time.... -Aaron B.
