Watching the new caravan come in, the young boy notices a face that appears quite peculiar. He doesn't know what it is, but he knows that he doesn't like what he is seeing. And somehow he knows that he will be involved with this face again in the future...

The man wakes from his deep sleep and recalls slowly of when that was. "A long time ago that was." As he stands, he stands in the light, the other men see a man built like the soldiers of the old guard. A large man who has shoulders that take up a full door width, and standing just high enough to bump his head at any common inn's entrance. With arms that could be used as battering rams, and legs that could be used to play kickball with boulders. He walks to the bar, "Keep! Another mug, if you would."

"Here ya go."

"Thanks," as the man begins his drink, he notices in the street a young woman running from the down the street. Curiosity besting him he walks towards the door, mug in hand. "Ka doom, da doom, da doom!" a few men chant as he walks.

"Ah, you guys, leave me alone!" And continues toward the door, he can hear the woman saying something inaudible. He thinks about what the woman is saying and a voice appears in his head, "He is coming, the one is coming. Suffering will begin!"

"Keep! Water! And a blanket!" he calls back to the bar as he starts hurrying to the woman. When he intercepts the running woman, she is gasping, "Help, he cannot be unguided! The one is coming, without guidance, he will bring suffering." With that the woman collapses into the man's arms.

"Woman!" he attempts to lift the unconscious woman into a sitting position and her open eyes reveal a blank unconscious stare.

"Here you go," the barkeeper takes a look at the woman and sees that she needs to rest "Quick bring her inside traveler." The man wraps the woman in the blanket and lifts her in his arms and follows the barkeeper back into the inn. "Emma!"

With barely a moment, a woman pops out of the kitchen. Seeing the woman in the man's arms, she yells at the barkeeper, "Who do you think you are, yelling at me to get things done for you, when there are sick to be tended to? You traveler, follow me." After glancing at the frustrated barkeeper, he starts to follow Emma down a dark corridor. "We haven't got all day now, bring her along like I said!"

With that he quickens his pace down the corridor. As he walks down the corridor he notices that there are many markings on the wall. He mumbles, "Familiar, yet I can't recall..."

"What is that?"

"I thought this was a nice pattern on your wall, Emma."

"Aye, yet they are much more. Much more. My mother tells me," She stops and opens a door on the left, "that these patterns help heal the sick. More than in just health mind you, but in spirit as well."

"I thought I might have felt a warm feeling coming down the hall."

"Well let us enter. Please accept my welcome into my clinic, and I welcome that young lady as well." As the old man steps through he notices that he is emptied of his strengths bestowed on him by his own magics, and can no longer hear the outside, or what the unconscious woman was thinking before. "Please stand there. And place her there." She points to a circle on the floor for the man to stand in, and a table for the woman to be placed on. When the old man moves to do so, Emma begins to take up boards on the side of the room and placing them on the floor near each of the walls. When she finishes going around the room, she starts for the cupboard that is placed in the middle of the room, "I told you to stand there!" With a surprising amount of strength he is shoved into the encircled area. Emma then continues to the cupboard as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. She pulls out a white vial with a blue luminescent liquid inside. She then takes a thin long item that appears to be a spoon made out of straw and dips it into the vial. Places the vial back into the cupboard in the middle of the room, and walks around the room dropping four drops of the blue luminescent liquid around the room chanting, "Sisters, send me your protection. Sister from the north, I call thee!" as a drop falls to middle of the hole in the floor away from the door, "Sister from the west, I call thee!" as she places a drop at the left side of the room, and continues as she chants her chant, "Sister from the South, I call thee, Sister from the East, I call thee!" As she finishes her chant, a light appears from the floor from where she moved the boards. "Thank you sisters for coming at my request." A woman from the north dressed in a blue wool tunic with a figure of a creature with a head of a dragon, body of a lion, and wings of an eagle on each breast, over a blue tinted chain mail steps in from where Emma chanted about her sister from the North. And then the sister from the West steps in wearing a green silk blouse under an iron breastplate with a spread wing eagle. The sister of the South walks in wearing a leotard made from yellow gold with a crane flying from her right hip to her left shoulder. The sister of the East walks in with a single piece uniform with a white stripe from the right shoulder to the left foot having no seams with the figure of a cow on the upper side of the stripe, and a bull on the lower side of the stripe, which appears in a slight off red color. Unnoticeable to one who wouldn't know it is there. "Welcome my sisters, I have need of your assistance in helping the traveler." The man begins to interrupt but is promptly stopped by Emma, "He will be on a mission soon, I ask that you watch over him and guide him through his next trial in life. But, now we must heal our sister from the heavens." Emma's sisters stand where they came in and reach for each other, as Emma melts into the floor and in her place a ball forms, which rolls under the table and forms four pointed spears towards her four sisters, who also begin to melt into the floor except with the animal depicted on their garbs. Where Emma's ball was is now a mound that appears to be no more than dirt. Then a bright light flashes.

The man knows much time has passed but the bright light being the last thing he remembers seems to have happened only a moment ago. In front of him he sees the woman he picked up out of the street, and Emma. "Ah he awakes. Traveler, you must listen to my sister of the heavens. Yet, before we can continue, I must have your word as apart of the Guard, that you will repeat what happened between you finding my sister in the street to when you leave this room to no one unless instructed by me or my sisters."

"I give my word."

With that Emma walks out of the room saying, "Watcher, is this what is necessary? Is it safe? Please let no harm come to my sisters because of this," leaving the man with her sister from the heavens.
