CHILDHOOD: I hope i remember atleast a bit of it. I think i used to be naughty and very active. I used be good at playing kitty-pullu ( something like cricket), goleee ( heeeee) and kabadi. hmmm all those days are gone. Always hated to go to school ( ofcourse u too...right???) and writng home works. Those days were real good days...i know u'll accept it. Faovorite time pass was fighting with my brother and sometimes with sister...O those rainy days that too in tharamani were always fun. Especially fishing in the rain water that used to flow to out of IIT Campus. In those days i never thought that in future i'll be researching in IIT. Hmmm u cannot escape fate right...otherwise would have escaped this boring research life...:-)). One more memorable thing in my childhood is my friend Bharath...
SCHOOL LIFE:
Studied from UKG to 5th class in Bethel school. Donot remember where I studied LKG. Bethel school used to be @ the end of Gandhi road in velachery. I used to walk everyday from my house,I think around 3 km, with my friend in the morning. And in the evening all alone :-( since i have to attend tution (another child hood boring stuff) But not the whole way as my mum will join me with biscuits.....I used to be in top 5 ranks in 5th class...i donot remember before that. Freinds of that time were jayapandian, Bharani and chitra. Donot know where these people are now!!!
6th to 12th in Guru-nanak school. I remember that i failed in the first exam. Was shocked but got used to it till 9th class. O!!! teror teachers were chinnee kurean ( englism madam) and Muthuraman ( terror of all terrors). This man was physics teacher. I still remember how ravi, a fellow classmet, used to run away and hide in bushes afraid of facing that man. I donot know how I managed to pass to 9th class. Still remember the shock i had given to muthuraman. Yeah he was shocked when i came 3rd in class. From then on i used to be eigther first or third. Never second as it was always held by chitra. Some miracle. She was always second. First and third were between me and Hemraj. In 10th Somehow I was first in class most of the time and in final exam I came third in school. First 2 places went to the persons Prem and priya ( Budee priya...sorry priya) of A section.
But u know I scored first mark in Math,Science and Social studies. Language subjects pulled me down. Later in Higher secondary lost interest, to be exact got bored of being first in class. Always used to be around 5th....Friends of that time were Srinivasan ( Balya snageedan), Sesha, Thandapani ( used to call thanda panneee....), maniraj, parimalam, GJ and Hemraj.
COLLEGE LIFE: I'll say these were my tough days. Used to travel by Bus to college, Bharath Engg college in selaiyur for about an hour and a quarter. Travelling in crowded velachery road busses are strenuous always. Friends of these time were Ajith-RV, Kups-Saravanan, Shiva ( spelling correcta da!!!), heater-Muthu, Manja Balki, Kuppam Pandee. Thats it nothing much to write about this life. Completed and for surprise passed the GATE exam and joined IITM. Unfortunately tough time started when i was in 3rd year of BE because of family problems. But survived..all credit goes to my mother and the help from some of my friends like Nageswarao and Sridhar. Without whose help i would not be sitting here in cambridge and writing this now. These and few more friends were real blessing in my life.....ok..ok.. bit serious right...but it was.
IIT M: I would say that only by then I understood that hard work will definitely yield. Althoigh tough time continued managed and survived. O!!! iit life is the best part of my life. I learned a lot there while doing MS (by research). All the skills i have today were from there. Learned CFD, O my god LES,DNS, Parallel computing wat not....Completed the thesis in 2002. Appled for PhD. Finally joined University of Cambridge Engg Dept and writing it now....:-)). Nagarajan ji, mammi and Ram helped me a lot during these period.
Iam indebted to these people.
I'll not say that iam a brilliant or inteligent chap. But i know that iam hardworking. This is what all the friends also say about me. Iam now in cambridge university engg department doing PhD in turbomachinery flows and heat transfer. Iam funded by EPSRC and Siemens....poooooooor people....
