PARABLES OF THE TALENTS AND
THE POUNDS
Summary: cont.
MAKING HIS CROSS MINE
When I first received
in my heart,
His finished work on the Cross,
by His death and His resurrection,
I have made His Cross mine; that is salvation.
When I learned of the deeper meaning of
the Cross,
and my death with Him,
and remember it always (daily),
then my Cross that I take up, is really
His Cross.
It continues to be
mine, in a more significant way,
and the reality of His resurrected life,
becomes real in my life.
Now I know, that not only did He
die for my sins,
but now I know that I died with Him,
and when the reality of my death is realized,
the reality of His resurrection becomes
real in my life;
that is progressive sanctification.
To
take up my cross really means to make His Cross mine,
for I was crucified with Him.
Now it is no more I who is carrying my
cross (my death),
but it is His Cross (His death)
that is carrying me,
into His resurrection.
I am resting on His finished work of the
Cross,
and the resurrected Christ, through His
Spirit now lives in me,
and moves me to grow in the grace and
knowledge of Him,
to give glory to His name.
Carrying
my cross, is not something I must do daily,
but something I know always.
It is a realization and knowing that I
was (past) crucified,
and now I am (present) crucified.
The Cross signifies death, His death,
and my death,
for I was crucified with Him (together).
The crucifixion is in the past tense,
crucified, and relative to me in the
present tense, I am .
To carry my cross daily,
is not a physical effort,
but to know, and to appropriate in my
heart,
my death with Him on the Cross always
(daily).
It is knowing in my heart what happened
in the past,
that the present is real, as I have the
resurrected Christ,
through his Spirit, who is living in me
and moving me to glorify God.
If I am trying to
crucify my self everyday,
then I do not know that I was crucified
with Him 2,000 years ago.
I must know now, today, in my present
life,
that I was crucified (2,000 years ago),
that the I am crucified, is real in my
daily life.
The daily reality of the resurrected life
of Christ in me,
is real when I know how I was crucified
with Him always.
Many do
not know how.
They say when He was crucified,
I was Crucified. But HOW?
They continually say WHEN He was crucified
and by faith.
Of course, everything that refers to God
is by faith.
They know WHEN but not HOW,
how were you there when you were not yet
born,
as this happened nearly 2,000 years ago.
