PARABLES OF THE TALENTS AND THE POUNDS

Summary: cont.

THE CROSS OF CHRIST IS THE ANSWER

Understanding the operation of the Cross,
is the key, that unlocks and gives me access
into the realm of the spiritual and into God's domain.
It is His Cross that becomes mine,
as I have more of the Cross or more knowledge of the Cross.

I realize that my cross, was really His cross in my heart.
It was always His Cross, but to me this transition becomes real,
as I understand the operation of the Cross,
and now His Cross carries me through this life.

This increases my faith in Christ,
for it reveals to me the glory of God.

This is the glory of God,
that Moses desired to see on the mount.

Now we can see it in the Cross of Christ,
and in His resurrection.
The glory of God is his attributes,
His character that we have come short of;
that was displayed on the Cross

    1.  His Grace is mercy revealed through love, thus we say God is Love
    2.  His holiness is truth revealed through light, thus we say God is Light
    3.  His power, is the resurrection shown through Life, thus we say God is Life

Having the Glory of God in our hearts,
is likened to the Israelites,
who had the Ark of the Lord before them,
and marching into victory where
ever they went.

The Ark of the Lord, which is also called the Ark of the Covenant,
and the Ark of Testimony,
contained three things,
that was also displayed on the Cross of Christ.

The Manna, which speaks of God through his love and mercy gave Christ to us.
The Ten Commandments speaks of the Holiness of God.
Aaron's Rod that bloomed speaks of the Resurrected Power of God.

When I have in my heart His Cross constantly,
I realize that I am dead, and His resurrected life can be a reality to me.
The moment I emphasize works,
I am uncrucified,
as I have forgotten that I died with Him,
and the old man takes over.

The deeper knowledge of the cross I have in my heart,
the more the walk of faith is real.
It is not complete, until Christ was resurrected,
but it must begin at the Cross.
Without the Cross there is no resurrection.
Without the Cross there is no salvation.

The Cross was necessary because of SIN,
and the Resurrection was necessary because of death.

This then increases my faith in Christ,
for it reveals to me the depth of His love,
the truth of His Word and the power of His life in my daily living.

    There are many Christians,
who are doing many things for the Lord,
thinking that they are pleasing the Lord.
But they are trying to do the Lord's work by their own energy.

Then there are those who are trying so hard,
and struggling to live the Christian life,
and are discouraged and unhappy.
Some pastors' advice is, do not give up;
keep trying the best you can.
Sad to say but this is not the true advice.

The things of God are not the ways of the world.
If this is your situation, you should give up,
stop trying, and enter into His Rest;
by knowing you are there because it is ALL FINISHED.
It is not by trying.  It is by knowing.
If you are trying it is because you do not know.

The Apostle Paul continually says,
know ye not?
The answer is in knowing,
the deeper meaning of the Cross of Christ.
It is in trusting and not in trying.
You can only trust, when you know.

Trusting is by faith in the spirit,
with the soul in subjection to your spirit,
and both in subjection to the Word of God.

Trying is the soul doing things alone,
apart from the spirit of your mind, by feelilngs.
But your mind is not filled,
with the Word of God,
and if it is, it is only in memory,
and it has not reached into the heart of your soul.

If you are walking by your feelings,
the soul is dominant,
and your mind is controlled by your feelings,
and you are thinking with your heart.

Your spirit, soul and body must become one,
as the Spirit of God, Christ and the Father are ONE.
The problem is, our soul is acting alone as a god,
and not in subjection to our spirit,
which is quickened by God,

Our body is behaving like it belongs to this world.
The Word of God must be the sole authority in our lives,
and not man’s commandments and traditions nor our feelings.

The church at Corinth did not understand the power of God.
They were seeking after man's wisdom,
proud in their own abilities.
There were seeking after gifts,
and thought they were the ones following the truth.
They were boasting in their sins and following after man.

The Apostle Paul wrote to correct them in their misconduct.

Paul continually pointed to the death of Jesus,
and then to the Lord's Supper, and the Resurrection,
to remind them of the Cross of Christ.

The Apostle Paul says to them
"For I determined not to know anything among you,
except Christ and Him crucified."
(1Cor. 2:2).

Yes!  To see someone who portrays Christ crucified,
is seeing someone who knows he is also crucified with Him.

    It is finished.
It is your soul that is trying and finding no rest.
There is no way we can live the Christian life by trying,
IT IS BY TRUSTING.

When you trust, you are resting.
In Heb. 3, they could not enter into His Rest because of UNBELIEF.

It is through the power of the Holy Spirit, moving in us,
and glorifying Christ in our lives,
that we know we are crucified.
Then we stand beside Him,
that His Spirit will have the liberty to move as He wills.

As long as we keep trying,
the Spirit of God cannot have the liberty to work in our lives.

Many of us spend more time in God's work,
than in God's presence.

We spend more time with the work of God,
than with the Word of God.

Thus, we talk more about the work of God,
than about the God of the work.
