Removing the old Engine

This is definitely the easiest part of the process.  I'm not going to explain exactly how to do it, just buy a haynes manual and follow the instructions.  It's a good idea to keep all the nuts and bolts from indivdual parts together to make it easier to put back together.  I got brown paper bags to put the bolts in and labeled them so nothing would get lost.  I also took the brake discs and calipers off as i was going to use the brakes from the halfcut.  Removing some of the electrical plugs can be tricky, some of them half o-rings in them which have gone hard after 16 years.  Especially the alternator, it's hard to get your hand to and was extremely hard to pull the plug out.  Don't throw anything away no matter how insignificant it seems, you will need to use more than you think of the old parts.

Everything disconnected, ready to come out
The end of a weekends work has the old motor swinging free
