| Species 8472 is one of the most unique and powerful species ever encountered. First contact occured in 2373 when the USS Voyager encounterd one of their bioships in Borg space. |
| Though very little data has been collected it is known that Species 8472 has a highly effective immune system. Anything biological or technological that enters the bloodstream is attacked and destroyed. Also Species 8472 is known to have great mental and telepathical capabilities, though the full extent is unsure. |
