Born in Nerat hold to Karon and Miryvalla, the middle of three children. Her older brother, Krystopher, followed in his father's footsteps as a farmer, helping to raise the crops that feed Pern. Her younger sister, Kiralla, is still happily at home as well, as she's only four. But Kevyn was not satisfied with the life at Nerat. Oh, she didn't mind the atmosphere, and her parents were loving, but she liked to spend her time out on the hold roof at night, gazing at the stars, and wondering about what was up in the heavens. She ran away from home once, when she was 10, bound to reach Landing to see where the Ancients had come from. But she got only as far as the Farmcraft Hall when she was found. Begging and pleading, her parents grudgingly agreed to send her to Landing to study, even though they needed the extra hands to harvest the crops. So, at the age of 11 turns, Kevyn was apprenticed to the Starcraft.
Kevyn is now 19 turns old, Impressed to Siryth, a chaotic brown dragon (whom she "found" at Xanadu Weyr), and Weyrmaster Starcrafter at Fort Weyr, as well as Weyrlingmaster to the latest crop of Weyrlings. She gave birth to her first (and likely only) child about 2 years ago, a boy she named Kyvan, the result of a greenflight that Siryth won. She entertained a brief infatuation for the green's rider (and Kyvan's father), E'van, for a time, but that soon wore off. Not too long ago, Siryth won another greenflight, that of Xribeth. Her rider, Z'dia, was an independent rider that was in the Fort area at the time. Much to Kevyn's surprise, and Z'dia's, the two fell in love. They remain weyrmated to this day, and Z'dia recently officially became a rider for Fort Weyr.
Kevyn is also humanpet to two firelizards, a green named Ferne and a blue named Periwinkle.
