| Chapter 1 "Good Morning Clarissa, Kevin should be down any minute now. Would you like something to drink?" Kevin's mother said "Yes Ma'am." Clarissa said "Please call me Ann!" she said walking to the kitchen with Clarissa right behind her. "What would you like to drink?" "Orange juice would be fine." Clarissa looked at the very neatly, organized, big kitchen the Richardson's have. Tim came down the stairs and sat at the table next to Clarissa. "Tim meet Clarissa." Ann said placing the galss of orange juice infron tof Clarissa. "Nice to meet you Clarissa. Have you met Kev yet?" "Nice to meet you too Tim, actually I have not met Kevin yet. I believe when we moved he was at football practice." "That's our Kev. Always the caring one." Tim joked "Jerald, is upstairs sleeping. He seems ill but it may just be the lack of rest." Anne said talking about her husband. "I would love to meet him." Clarissa said. "Tim, would you run ustairs for me and get Kevin?" "Okay mom." With that Tim left. "Would you like to hear somethings about Kevin?" Ann said "Sure." "Well, he's the captain of the football team, he has a girlfriend by the name of Cynthia, I for one do not like her. She is using Kevin for popularity. I try telling Kevin but he's in love. She may not like you, she doesn't like any of Kevin's friends." "What does she do to the people she dislikes?" Clarissa asked "She's all talk, but no walk" Ann said "Thank you for informing me Ann." "Anytime Clarissa. I feel like your the daughter I never had." "I would say that your my perfect mother but I already have a mom. Would you mind if I called you Mama Ann?" "No, I don't mind. Mama Ann it is." Ann said smiling. Kevin came running down the stairs and began walking once he saw Clarissa looking at him. "Pleased to meet you Kevin." Clarissa siad with her hand out. "Pleased to meet you too Clarissa." Kevin shook her hand "Well Kev, seems to me both of you aregonna be late for class." Ann said "Yes mom." Kevin went to his mother an dkissed her cheek and gave her a hug. Kevin and Clarissa left to school. Tim drove them. Once they exited the car Kevin was met with his girlfriend Cynthia. "Goodmorning Kevin." cynthia said kissing Kevin. CLarisa just looked at the cheerleaders that were behind Cynthia. Once the kiss ended Kevin introduced Clarisssa to Cynthia. Cynthia looked at her and continued talking to Kevin. "Hi." this girl said to Clarissa. "Hi." Clarissa responded. "You're new around here aren't you?" "Yes, I am. My name's Clarissa." "Nice to meet you Clarissa, I'm Sarah." "Hi Sarah." Clarissa said "How do you know Kevin?" Sarah said "He's my heighbor." "Wow, lucky you." Sarah said "Yeah well, I don't really know him. I think he doesn't want to be seen with me." Clarissa siad watching Kevin talk to Cynthia. "Have you talked to him?" "No, the only converstaion we've had were the 'Nice to meet you' s!" Clarissa said "Every girl has a crush on him. Its funny because every girl flips their hair to him. Their like 'Hi Kevin, how are you?' or 'Hi Kevin, hows your lunch?' I honestly get a laugh out of it." "What about you? You don't like him?" asked Clarissa "Nope, he's not my type." Sarah said "Would you mind telling me who this Cynthia really is?" Clarissa asked. "She is of course using Kevin for popularity, She's the sophmore captian for the cheerleader. Her family has a lot of money, more than they can count. She's the average stuck-up child from a rich family. I really don't know what Kevin sees in her." finished Sarah. "Poor Guy." "Clarissa would you mind if I saw your schedule?" asked Sarah "No." Clarissa handed Sarah her schedule. Sarah glanced at and saw the same one like hers. "Well, seems to me you are stuck with me!" Sarah said as the bell rang. Srarh walked Clarissa to 1st period. They sat in the second row. "This is honors Science. Mr. Graves is interesting. You can have an easy 98 by just doing your work. The work we do is common sense. Tests are a sinch if you have your review. Rodger, to you left is the class clown to his knowledge!" Sarah said "Thanks." Clarissa said Lunch soon came. Kevin approched Clarissa and Sarah "So..Clarissa how's you day so far?" asked Kevin. "So far so good! Have you met Sarah?" "no, pleased to meet you! Aren't you the freshman captain?" asked Kevin. "Yes, In the flesh! And you must be Kevin! Nice to meet you!" Sarah said. "You never told me you were the captain of the freshman cheerleaders!" Clarissa said confused. "You never asked!" Sarah pointed out. "Well I wanted to tell you that today I have football practice abd maybe Sarah could show you the football stands were we will meet after school! okay?" Kevin said.
