So far a lot of the news regarding our picks this year has certainly been going the wrong way.  I mean c'mon, I guy gets shot 14 times and is only in the hospital for a month or 2!!!  In an effort to spin things to the dark side, here is my current "Top 5 likely to die this year" list when considering all of our rosters:

1. Nancy Reagan - quote from my Dad: "that broken leg spells disaster"

2. Ted Kennedy - the guy has a brain tumor and suffered a seizure on sept. 27

3. Claude Levi-Strauss - he's 99!  Enough said.

4. Kirk Douglas - i thought this guy was going to go our first year. I can't believe he's still kickin' around

5. Patrick Swayze - while he's saying that he's "happy and healthy" and has responded to treatment, i just have a gut (or should I say pancreatic) feeling that he's going to drop

Seriously.....Dick Clark isn't in your top five!!! That's bull Sh*t! The guy is hangin together by fishin line and rubber cement....although I can't disagree with your dad's assessment of a broken leg.

'fishin line' is right...there's something fishy about Dick Clark that truly reminds me of "Weekend at Bernie's". I just don't understand their motive in pretending he's still alive. I place him into the same category with Ariel Sharone and Fidel Castro: Already dead but will never be officially announced. It's even easier with Dick Clark because they only have to do his makeup and prop him up once a year!

Funny how all three people you mention - Dick Clark, Ariel Sharone and Fidel Castro - are all my picks and yet I still don't have a freakin death in the entire history of this damn pool!!!! PS - Do you ever get the feeling we're the only two people on this blog? Kind of defeats the purpose of a message board when there's only two of us. That's why they invented email!

I'm feeling like someone is going to go in the next couple of weeks! Maybe it will be your first.
As to your PS, while I agree it's slightly goofy with just the 2 of us, I think I enjoy the thought of the possibility of mystery people out there reading our thoughts and being entertained by us. I always pretend that we have 30 readers but only you and I post!

Double PS - I checked our stats. We had 10 hits yesterday (Monday). So, 10 minus my 1 hit and minus your ??? hits = the number of mysterious visitors!!!

I am beginning to be concerned that the owner of the blog isn't even posting anymore. PSS - In recent days, I have been visiting this blog from a random number of public access internet stations located across Waterloo Region. That may explain the mysterious visitors.
