I was watching the footage of Obama interrupting his campaign to visit his 'on death's door' grandma in Honolulu, and I was thinking "damn, wish I had her.  She would've been a guarantee. But who would've thought of her."

How great would a free agent system be???  When you see news of someone heading down the grim reaper path, you could jump on the waiver wire and pick them up for your roster.  Of course, I have no idea how the system would work and don't actually think it feasible, but the concept was nonetheless quite exciting to me.  I could see myself running to Mac's to pick up the latest issues of the Enquirer and US to get the latest gossip.
