The Genius of the young mind: August 2, 2007
I had a family get together a few days ago at a lake.  Of course, I brought along the washoo boxes.  I didn't organize a tournament or even have trumpets announce their arrival.  I merely put them out on the ground.  It's amazing the drawing power of Washoos.  My uncle was sucked in by their tractor beam.  "What's this?" he asked.  My Dad got up to show him how to play and they had a game.  My uncle then showed his son and they played.  So goes the game of Washoos.

What was most interesting was when the kids got out of the lake and were looking for something else to do.  They tried the Washoos but of course couldn't come close to getting the washers in the box at 17 feet.  Within 30 seconds these little geniuses had figured out that if they move the boxes closer (about 8 feet for them) that they could have some success.  They cooperatively took turns with the washers and spent about 10 minutes (pretty long for kids with a 5 second attention span)  making throws and cheering each others hits.

The future of washoos in the next generation seems secure.

Dear Fellow Washoo Enthusisasts,

I have to sheepishly admit that this is the first time I have checked out the washoo blog. I truly did not know what I was missing. Facebook who? The washoo blog is far more entertaining and such a better use of my time. I have been telling Lindsey for weeks that I will pull my facebook account because I think it's stupid. This is the final nail in the coffin.

While my wife and child are away this week I promise to check out all 24 entries. I have made it as far back as the washoo theme / opening ceremony song post. Does anyone have that old WWF them song tape? There has to be a good one on there. In the future I will check frequently and post where appropriate.

Wow! As I type ... Partiots 52, Redskins 0.

Poker and Raptors Friday night anyone?

Rob
