Washer Paint?: August 10, 2007
Past Washoo champions Trevor and Kevin O'Neill played a friendly Wednesday night.  It was well into the darkness of night and the flood lights were used to allow game play.  They had quite the lengthy battle and every point was well earned.  After a few searches for missing washers in the grass, I found myself contemplating the benefits of colouring the washers.  My neighbours just made some washoo pits and used orange and green spray paint to colour the washers.  I could easily do the same but something keeps holding me back.

Benefits of painting:

- easier to see and find

- no more "how many did I get in?"

Disadvantages of painting:

- alters weight of washers

- different 'feel' of washer surface

- possible chipping of paint in the future could affect washer flight

So I open it up to you.  What is your opinion? To paint or not to paint?

I really do see the benefits in painting the washoos. I say we setup a practise facility with 8 washers; paint them and see how things go. It could be like a Washoos Combine.

We will never know until we try it out.

just a reminder that in the initial novice washoo season, washers were painted. I believe they were white with red or blue trim. The paint chipped off very quickly, and thus the end of the painted washer. shame on the commish for not remembering the inaugural season stats.

Next to figuring out a way to have the washers collect themselves from the ground at the end of each round and jump up into our hands to be thrown again (would save all that time consuming and energy wasting bending over), painting the washers is the single best improvement that could be made to the game!
