| Saturday Show 21.9.02 Fern: Nick Thanks for coming along today. Where have you been? i haven't seen you for ages? Nick: I've been everywhere actually just recording this last album, the solo album that i'm about to release. I actually came over here to London and did some stuff here in the UK recorded with a couple of big writers and producers. I mean i've been everywhere for the last 6 months. Fern: Now is it weird being solo like saying 'Where's my boys?, Where r they?' Nick: It's a little different but i mean ive been with them for 10yrs and this was something i've been really wanting to do since i was really small..so um its cool. I get a chance to go around the world again and get a chance to get down with the people who helped me to get to that point in the first place. Fern: Yeah (gives text info for questions for nick later) You are performing your solo single Help Me later am i right in saying it's a world exclusive performance? Nick: Yes Fern: World, World exclusive Nick It's my first one later on in the show Fern: How ya doin? Nick: Really good Fern: Are you enjoying the show so far? Nick: Oh i'm loving i, It's incredible Fern: We've had loads of emails for you and stuff Simon: This is from Mohammed in London: You launching a solo career soon now is this the end (now tell us the truth) of the Backstreet Boys? Nick: No it's not the end of the Backstreet Boys I've been with them since I was like 12 years old, I've grew up with them. This is just something new, i'm 22 now. So this is just something new i wanna try out see how it was gonna go. Just experience something new in my life. The guys are really cool with it and they know it's just one of those moments in time where you just, you really, really wanna do something really passionate and that's what this is to me......so it's not the end of it. Fern: We look forward to hearing your single later then Nick: and just for future references, you know, I wanna be doing more records with them and stuff, like maybe next year sometime we start recording, but right now i'm just gonna be doing this. Fern: So it's not the end of the Backstreet Boys then...We've got one from Lisa here. Dear Nick what's the least favorite haircut you've had? Nick: (laughs) what's the least favorite haircut i've ever had? um....... Fern: Yeah there's been some real dodgy ones hasn't there..... Nick: I had a really, really jacked up one. Where the, just like the um....it looks like somebody just put a bowl on top of my head & just cut it all the way around. I dunno what i was thinking. Simon: I think i did it too...everybody had one of them. Nick: Everybody had a bowl cut Simon: What you call it? Nick: A bowl cut..... you just put on a bowl like that bowl over there right ontop of your head. Simon: lovely Fern: Stop it ( to simon) laughing Simon: I've got another one...this is from Ollie in Straid. Dear Nick Hi....Thats you....(laughs) your brother Aaron what's he up to these days and are you gonna be working together? Nick: Right now he's on tour in America, he's toured all over the place. I would love to do some stuff with him....i mean he's my little brother, I've done some stuff with him in the past but right now i'm kinda like i'm joining his boat now. He's been a solo artist for a while now and i'm trying to do aswell as my little brother's done you know. Fern: Awww. Look one last email we got from Bethany from Glasgow. Is there any lucky charms you don't leave home without? Nick: Uh actually i have one and i brought it with me. Fern: You have? Can we have a look at it Nick? Nick: This is um...this is a special doll i bring with me her name's Terry. Fern: look at that! Nick: I bring Terry with me all the time and oh everywhere i go i always have Terry. Fern: Nick can i stop you there? That's not your doll actually is it? It's Kelly Bricklands, who's right up there! Basically she's a huge Nick fan and got to meet him and he was holding her doll for ages..it was quite funny looking. later on in the show Simon: Also on TOTP later on we have Mr Nick Carter performing your brand new debut, never before been sung apart from on this show...... Nick mmhmmm Simon: looking forward to it? Nick: I'm, I'm ready. I can't wait Simon: I bet you are, bet you are.. I think Nick really likes coming to Europe cos he gets to take part in games and act like himself and be a dork once in a while. Unlike the boring interviews we're accustomed to seeing asking the same old questions time and again....You can tell he really enjoyed the show After this later on he took part in a dance off with a girl from the audience who won, drawing sketches and was behind the bar making a juice cocktail from which he was asked: Fern: Now Nick if you was to dedicate a song who would you dedicate it to? Nick: Um (laughs) Actually it's kinda funny. I wanna dedicate a song to my brother and it would be..... Fern: To Aaron yeah? Nick: Yeah it's an old song where there was a guy called Skilo and this song called I wish i was a little bit taller Fern: I know the one yeah Nick: He really needs that songcos he really wishes he was a boy (? i thought he was lol) Here you go (gives Fern a drink) Fern: Look at that shall i taste it aswell...... Nick: Taste it(as she drinks) Yummy! (this was hilarious the way he said it :D) Yum Nick then bowls some kinda fruit off her shoulder as she's talking into the camera....i have pictures of all these events in tv shows section |
