| This interview is from Miami: Dani: Nick Carter welcome back to The Saturday Show Nick: Wassup.... Dani: Now solo album tell us a bit about it Nick: Basically what happened was we came back off the Japanese tour from our World Tour and everybody decided to take a little break so i called up my record company and was like uh can i get in the studio just to write a couple of songs, record a couple of songs & they were like.....not, not to get in and record an album or anything...... they're like ok. I didn't know what the style was gonna be, like i didn't know how it was gonna be at....... Dani: You've had that many experiences in Backstreet Boys have you got that many life experiences to write songs about? or..... Nick: You'll see(grinning) Yeah put it this way 13 is when i first started in the group and ever since then gone through allotta stuff. I've been touring all around the world since i was a kid. I'm sure everybody heard when i got arrested and stuff (looking sheepish)so um (laughing) i've kind of put it onto paper how i felt in a couple of songs. cut to help me video Dani: Most people are expecting it(Help Me) to be like Backstreet sounds over the years. Why kind of guitars, slightly rockier, i think the rock dude is coming out in you Nick. Nick I've always been a big rock fan. I love old rock 'n ' roll, new rock... Dani: You've always been a rock fan.....who's your favorite rock band? Nick: Probably right now (pause) I'm listening to alot of Weezer right now, but im a big oldies guy. I love old rock 'n' roll like Fleetwood Mac....(pauses)..Journey stuff like that, (pauses again).... to Tom Perry and Bryan Adams Dani: What about the other guys?...hip hop, (then as if just dawning on her) folk Nick: Brians a BIG folk music guy,Kevins' Elton John, AJ is into....he's actually into Enigma right now. Howie, i dunno how to publicise him. If i ever listen to rock in the dressing room they're like shut up!! Dani: As i see they're all sort of settled down and married...got a girlfriend Nick? (shakes his head & pouty lip lol)thats what all the fans wanna know. Nick: I'm sure there's a girl out there somewhere but i haven't found her yet (look at the camera and smiles) Dani: What do you um look for in a woman? Nick: (laughs)What do i look for in a woman (they both laugh a bit)Yes i need help, i need help Danni: (jokingly)Tons of quality....Hello i'm Nick Carter, I'm single, and um..... Nick: No um adventurous, exciting, and uh upfront. They know what they want. They aren't afraid to come and say hi to me. I'm sometimes a shy guy especially if it's a pretty girl that i like. I have a hard time coming up especially if its in a club or like (Dani: Awwww)going up and saying wassup. They know what they want and they're cool, they can come up to me and say wassup. I don't care its the year 2002. I like girls who are full of it. Nick: Music is the one pure thing that is good..if your talented you should show the world that gift......It's amazing to be able to meet/touch so many lives by your voice. Danni: And just to reassure the fans are the Backstreets gonna be back? Nick: I'm doing what i'm doing right now and i wanna/gonna get into the studio with the guys later on in the year. Danni: So theres the possibility of a new album then? Nick: Yeah Dani: Nick Carter thank you so much Nick: Thanks Dani: see you again (exchange kisses) |
