| It is a happy and prosperous time in the Kingdom of Alefgard. People travel from town to town and live peacefully enjoying the prosperity of this golden age. However on a mountainous island a sorcerer, twisted and deranged by years of isolation plans to destroy it all. This sorcerer learns to manipulate the forces of evil and control the minds of monsters. Using these powers the sorcerer, now calling himself the Dragon Lord attacks Tantegel Castle to steal the Ball of Light. This Ball of Light was used by the great hero Erdrick in the past to defeat a mighty evil and now prevents the monsters from leaving the island. With his strength and surprise attack the Dragon Lord succeeds in capturing the ball of light enabling the monsters to leave the island and wander the land to wreck havoc. Then to further infuriate the King of Alefgard the Dragon Lord kidnaps his daughter the beautiful Princess Gwaelin. Desperate for peace and the return of his daughter the King summons you, Erdrick's descendent to live up to the family name and seek out the Dragon Lord and end his reign of terror.
