The picture on top was taken about 5 days after the initial surgery
and the following pictures were taken 10 days after the initial
surgery.At this point she already had 45 cc's of solution in each
expander. The 2 plastic circles coming off her scalp are the drain
ports. This is where the Dr. puts the needle to fill each of the
expanders. Amanda only feels pressure - no direct pain.
Amanda had her second surgery on 3-19-97 to remove the nevus and the expanders.
You can see the picture of the incision that the Dr. had to do to remove
the whole nevus. Pretty darn big! The next picture shows you
that Amanda bounced right back. I will add some pictures that were
taken hours after the surgery - forgot to scan them.
