| I feel the greatest problem facing our world today is terrorism. There are a few reasons I feel terrorism is a major problem. One of the reasons would be the major change in economy. A good example of this change would be after 9-11, after this event airline sells took a major dive and literally hit rock bottom. This lack of airline sales went on for so long that the airlines needed a solution, the solution was to lower ticket prices to practically nothing. Now this drop in ticket prices did help bring air fair sales back up but over a gradual period of time. However airlines weren?t the only business affected by this event. Hotels were affected too as the number of travelers and tourists went down so did the hotel?s profits, since more rooms were empty and not being used. Now this basically has a chain reaction effect eventually causing some sort of economic change to just about any business whether it?s a theme park, a restaurant or even a gas station. Another reason terrorism has such a bad effect on the world is that it gives people of the particular terrorist nationality a bad name. This is simply because people automatically assume the people of that nationality are some how related to terrorist acts. Another major reason terrorism is a huge threat to the world is simply because the war it produces. These wars have a major effect in all parts of the world, and especially were the terrorist acts are being performed. This causes death to many innocent citizens and children of the particular region. However these wars greatly affect the entire world since other nations will fight back in hopes of stopping the terrorist attacks. The last major issue of terrorism that I will cover in my response is the way it changes the flow of people?s lives. Ever since the first major attack of terrorism on the United States security has been greatly increased. These increases are mainly noticeable at airports. These changes in security make travel longer and more unwanted. This change of flow also makes people more nervous and scared when on trips or in public. These are some of the reasons I feel terrorism is a major issue facing our world today. |
