2. Eckels is a man that is not very intelligent and he doesn�t think about things before he does them. He is a man that wants to make a quick buck, which is why he went on the safari. Eckels is also a man that is easily intimidated and gets scared this part of him makes him run off the path and alter the future. He also will try to save himself from being blamed when he does something wrong, when he stepped off the path he says it wont matter nothing will happen which he wants to believe so he doesn�t have to take the blame for it.
4.The theme of the story in my opinion is don�t mess with history or tampering with the past is dangerous. Now the Time Safari, inc. company is messing the history so they can make money by killing dinosaurs. When Eckels returns to his present many things had changed the spelling the current president and there was a chemical smell in the air this is all a result of them messing with history. The significance of the butterfly is that destroying that part of history will destroy other small parts of history and from that cause a more significant one, we witness this change when they arrive back in the present.
