The cool crisp breeze of winter blows against my face sending a chill down my spine. As I walk to the park the hard packed snow crunches against my feet. Icicles hang from the streetlights. The smell of burning wood gets stronger as I inch closer and closer to home. I walk in the door and smell freshly baked cookies, as I walk to the living room the fire sparks and crackles as it warms the room. |

| I Failed A Test
Mom and dad I am afraid I am going to have to be the barer of bad news and tell you that I failed a test today. There were a few reasons I failed the test. The first is that I didnt manage my time well with my other assignments and I didnt have enough time to study. The second is that I didnt pay very good attention in class when we learned about the topic that was going to be on the test. Also when I took the test I was too tired since my pitiful attempt at studying kept me up all night. I will try to manage my time better and get a good nights rest before all my future tests. Oh man I just failed a test so badly its not even crazy. I was so tired when I was taking it I practically fell asleep. I didnt even get a chance to study because I had hockey. I guess its over so whatever maybe ill do better on the next one. Hopefully I dont have hockey because if I do I wont study again. So hopefully I do better next test and hopefully I remember to study. Well I failed the test because I didnt study for the test. I didnt pay very good attention to the lesions that were on the test either. I didnt get a good nights rest either so that probably affected my results as well. I will try harder in class when you give lectures and be more interactive in class to try and gain more understanding of the subject. I also now have a bigger reason to do well which is to dig myself out of the whole I made. Standard of Beauty I am pretty sure that there is a standard of beauty that everybody can agree apon. There are two forms of beauty and many people see beauty in a different way. The two kinds of beauty that come to my mind are the beauty on the outside of a person. Then there is the beauty on the inside of a person. Some people look for and only care for the beauty that is on the outside. Some people dont even care about the beauty of the person on the outside and only look for and care about the people with beauty on the inside. Now when I say beauty on the inside of a person I mean that they are carrying, nice, loving, and in some way interesting to a person. Now beauty on the outside is if a person looks good and is in style with the latest clothes and hairstyle so they are basically the trendy people with good looks. The beauty that is ideal and one that I feel everyone can agree on would be a combination of both. I feel it is a 1 in a million shot to find a person with beauty like this but I would say if you do then it would definitely be a standard of beauty. Those are the things that I feel make up the standard of beauty. How is A Clock Like the Bubonic Plague? A clock is like the bubonic plague in a few ways. The bubonic plague will reach you and if it enters your body then you have become infected with the plague. Now that you have the plague your life has become a clock since your life is ticking away every second that goes by is ticking away on the clock and once the clock reaches the top its over. The bell starts to ding off the hours telling you that the last second of the day has ended. Which is like a person with the bubonic plague since the last second of your life has just ticked off the clock ending your life with the bubonic plague. Those are some ways that the clock is related to a person infected with the bubonic plague. How is A Window like an opportunity? A window is like an opportunity in a few ways. A window is always there but you are only by the window for so long. This means you have a certain amount of time to enjoy the nice view that that window may have to offer. Now that resembles an opportunity in life in a similar way, Lets say that you have a new job opportunity and this job pays more well you can go take advantage of the opportunity or sit in awe that you are going to get more money, but by the time you go to get the job you find out someone else has already taken the job. Another way that a window is like an opportunity is that a window can only give you so much it can give you a nice view of the mountains, the warmth of the sun, and a cool breeze during summer, but thats all a window can do for you is offer all of those things to you. This resembles an opportunity in so many ways since a friend could offer you free room and board or you could by a lottery ticket knowing you now have the opportunity to win a large amount of money, but if you dont take your friends offer or buy a lottery ticket then you will never get it. Time Travel If I had a time machine there are two places that jump into my mind that I would love to go. The first place I would want to go would be any led zeppelin concert. I could care less if I was at one that wasnt a mind-blowing show that they often performed. All I would care about is being close to the stage and be able to see Jimmy, Jonsey, Bonzo and plant rocking out on stage. That would just be the ultimate experience for me simply because I am addicted to led zeppelin and I am limited to only being able to watch them on there dvd release or on ridiculously priced bootlegs. The only thing that would make that visit any better is if I got to go back stage and meat the band man I would die to have that opportunity. The second place I would want to go to visit would be seeing the 1986 Montreal Canadians Stanley cup run. This would have been awesome since that was a great team to begin with but it was also the year that a star goalie named Patrick Roy broke into the NHL. PATRICK Roy would definitely be my hockey idol since my other idol would be a band Led Zeppelin I say this because they were and will always be the greatest rocking band ever. He was such a great leader and player who never gave up. The chance to me is a chance of a lifetime to have witnessed those games as he was unbelievable in net and was just about unstoppable. Those are the places I would want to be if time travel was possible. How are memories like a river? Memories are like a river in a few ways. Memories only come every once in a while in life at least the good memories. That resembles a river since rivers are limited in the world much like our memories. Another resemblance is the ability to stop and think about a memory you can only do that for so long before its over and you have to go back to reality. This is very similar to a river since you can only enjoy the rushing water twisting down the bank for so long before you have to leave and remember it. Memories can also relate to rivers since one of your fond memories could be seeing or visiting a river or even doing an activity such as kayaking or rafting in the river. The memories you get from rafting or kayaking. One other way memories are like a river is some memories are more important or significant than others, which relates to rivers since some are shallow and some are deep. |
