1. They were two epic poems written from 1100 B.C. to 800B.C.
  2. Mountains helped them isolate city-states making them build small city-states instead of one large empire.
  3. Spartan males began training at age 7, they were encouraged to steel, and at age 30 they took their place in the assembly. Women were expected to produce healthy sons, and trained to keep their bodies healthy.
  4. Solon their leader, opened high offices to more citizens, and gave more say to Athenian assembly in important decisions. This was a limited democracy since many of the decisions only allowed men to participate.
  5. Although the Persians outnumbered Athenian forces, the Persians retreated since the Athenians charged them fearlessly.
  6. The Peloponnesian War ended Athens greatness, the economy would improve but their spirits and vitality declined.
  7. It is a series of patient questioning.
  8. Alexander the great conquered much of the known world at the time of his ruling, he did this through ruthless ruling and war tactics.
  9. The two cultures blended were Roman and the Greeks to forum the Hellenistic civilization.
