This is showing the speakers carelessness, and excitement in this activity with
his father. It is showing a type of aggressive fun.
Countenance-
This Is showing how people in this case being the speakers mother are serious,
they can be unhappy and also have a unchangeable opinion.
Battered-
This is bringing about the idea of pain and suffering.
Clinging-
This is referring to or expressing the idea of someone hanging on, or grasping
something with great force.
Unfrown-
This showing and expressing something that is permanent and unchangeable.
