Caught in the act! John Holmstrom, with friend Mariah, is having a draft beer at Manitoba's and had just autographed three issues (#'s 3,4 and 17) of Punk magazine, which he personalized in a very cool way. John is a one in a million kind of guy, I love him and am glad he's still around, keeping punk alive! |

The picture on the right is Helen (my paramour), Jayne County and - unfortunately almost out of frame here, anyway - Legs McNeil. This is one of two photos and shows all three of them in a good light. The party was in full swing and Jayne was the DJ, playing a wide range of 1970s music from the New York Dolls to Jayne's own Backstreet Boys... Jayne was, as always, an excellent DJ. |

The inevitable, wonderful Leee Black Childers in person, and to my surprise, Jayne showed up here too in the DJ booth. Leee was happy to be there and his work on display (each photographer had their own section in different areas about the bar) was classic and undeniably very cool. What can I say? Leee is unquestionably a living legend and there were quite a few of them in attendance that night in Manitoba's bar. Handsome Dick was a genial host as well! |

The one and only Daniel Rey, responsible for a major portion of the Ramones' catalogue in the late eighties all the way until Adios Amigos, which he produced as well as Halfway to Sanity. He is a pleasure to speak to and has a witty response when called for. Recently he's worked with the Star Spangles and definitely was a major help in getting them signed to Capitol Records. Go Daniel! |

Legs with legs!!! Please kill me, please!!! No, seriously, I didn't see the painting behind him when I took this photograph. Legs and I had an interesting discussion on this night and unfortunately, due to too many beers, I can't recall all of it. Legs is quite a character and as I hadn't seen him since Dee Dee Ramone's first Chelsea Horror Hotel book signing/show in NYC at the Lakeside Lounge, it was good to see him again. On that day, he lent me his cell phone to speak |

to ex-Ramones manager Danny Fields on the subject of a potential book about the lead singer of my former band Sewage. That project is, fortunately to me, anyway, not going to happen. |
