| "I am Lord Baenre (called, "Zak" by my friends). My celstial name (explained below) is Adrael. I am a mighty paladin and great leader. My followers call me a man beyond reproach, while friends call me strong and indestructable. Spells do not affect me, swords bounce off me, and even as the fires of a red dragon envelope me, I laugh. My only apparent weakness seems to be strong or bright light. I am an author and a linguist, mastering nearly all the languages of Toril. My mithral spiked full plate and shield are never far away, least of all my trusty adamantine longsword. I stand six feet tall (huge for an elf), and have chilling blue eyes and hair like the purest silver, which contrasts my ebony black skin. Pearly silver wings sprout out the back of my armor, and I am covered with angelic runes engraved into my skin (scars like Nightcrawler's in X2). I was once a Drow, but am now a Celestial Archon guarding over my friends on the Material Plane. This is my story... |

| While meeting in Cynosure, the god who most hates Drow, Shevarashi, approached Tyr in anger. She complained he was not acting justly because he did not encourage his followers to hunt the evil race. Tyr argued that even evil races occasionally produced good, thus it would be unfair to that minority for their race to be judged. Sheverashi scoffed. To prove his point, Tyr made a bet with Shevarashi that he could make even a Drow one of his own paladins. Thinking this impossible, she accepted. On the first day if Alturiak in the Year of Bright Dreams, Tyr disguised himself as an attractice Drow male and lay with Matron Baenre, effective ruler of Menzoberranzan. Zaknafein was born the thirtieth day of Marpenoth, but was the fourth child of the house and was to sacrificed to Lolth. Tyr saved him, though, and took him to the House of the Triad. This ensured the evil Drow society would not corrupt his divine kin-- and ensured the bet was legitimate. Lolth was forced to stay her anger, because to act on it would be to show her followers that deities were not above reprieve. Zaknafein ended up with the typical Drow traits, except for his chilling blue eyes, pure silver hair, and a white birthmark on his right cheekbone in the shpae of a gauntlet. He also ended up a bit taller and fuller than others of his race. Zaknafein lived most of his youth learning from his father, and adopted his principles. Then, in the Year of Shadows, his visage was shattered. The Time of Troubles forced Tyr to bring Zaknafein to Toril. Knowing how vulnerable he would be with a son in tow, Tyr charged Piergeiron the Paladinson with completing the boy's training. Even after the conclusion of the Avatar Crisis, Tyr left his son in Waterdeep. When he reached 110 years of age in the Year of the Unstrung Harp, Zaknafein recieved a home from Piergeiron, and finely crafted gifts from Tyr. These included a suit of armor and shield crafted in Mithral Hall, and two very special items: A magic sword crafted from adamantine, and an enchanted helm with a visor that only opens with a command word. Zaknafein soon understood the value of such gifts as he realized how his race was treated. Thus, he wore his armor whenever possible. In the year of Wild Magic, he decided to focus more of his time bringing out his Aasimar side. Tyr granted him his wish, and even though he is now a type of Celestial, he retains the black skin. Now he is an appointed Justicar for Tyr, as he is a beautiful but terrifying sight to behold. |
