Eventually we came to a large cavernous area that had ledges, a weird steel door on one side, and an area with seplecures and shiny rocks in the walls. I immediately went to work harvesting the shiny rocks, and the rest of the party looked around. The Dwarf was interested in the seplecures, and she discovered that one was for an old guy, one was for a fighter, and one was for a very unlucky blacksmith. Dash went and checked out the door. While he did though, two firery snakes attacked him, and his sword didn't hurt them at all! So I leaped over there while drawing out my shiny morningstar and struck them down, only taking mild damage. Dash was hurt though, and so again we called on the cleric, who had also been checking out the seplecures. We found the door to be locked. There was a ledge about ten feet above the door though, and we climbed up it and found a Durgaden weapon and LOTS of gold. Dash fell on his butt on the way down, but nobody laughed because he seemed really upset about it. We traveled on through ruin and utter destruction. Many areas were flooded and destroyed. We met an acid elemental. Thank goodness I recognized it as an acid creature before I attacked it with my shiny morningstar. We hit it from afar and it sputtered out of existence. At the end of this section of the cave, we found a Durgaden weapon, held by a skeleton and weird poisonous plants, but it was a dead end. |

So we turned around and headed a different way. We walked for days and days along a river, through large and small caverns. It didn't look like the inhabited areas. One day we looked around and noticed that Madrix was gone. He never came back. Good thing he left though, because he was making me angry, and if he had tried to kill me once more, he would have died. But anyway, finally we came to a dead fish. The cleric decided to go look at the dead fish, and as she was examining it, a part of the cave wall came to life and grappled her with tentacles! Durka went to her rescue chopping at the tenticles, but Dash and I stayed back for ranged support. We fired and fired and fired arrows at it, but none of them seemed to penetrate the stalagmite's thick surface. It started chomping on the cleric, and Dash and I ran out of arrows. He threw his hammer, but it landed in the river. The cave made a meal of the cleric, and then went after the dwarf. Since it was full though, it only poisoned her and took away all her strength. As the dwarf lie paralized, I decided to try one more thing to kill this cave wall. I threw my alchemist's |

We waited half a month in mourning and for the dwarf to recover. It was rather difficult to heal her wounds without a cleric. When the fire died down, we picked through the rubble, and found a treasure stash. Dash took a bunch of gold and gems, and I took one gem and a shiny silver ring, laid with three red stones. I'm no dummy. They all think I'm a dummy because I go crazy for shiny things like rocks and stuff, but really, I'm smart. I've learned, through the years, that shiny things are expensive, and can be sold for a lot of money, along with being interesting and fun to look at. So I sacrificed the fast gold and took my chances with the shiny ring. |

Eventually Durka got better, and we moved on. Down, down, down we went. Finally we came to an area that seemed much like living quarters. The first room was a kitchen. As soon as we stepped into the room though, a kitchen table attacked Dash! So I galantly leaped on the table and tried to slay it. It bucked me off and I tried bravely to jump back on. Dash lost half his life before killing it. In a bed room, a carpet tried to attack us, but we set it on fire and left the room. In a library, we found a beautiful woman who said she was trapped by a wizard downstairs. She told us that if we slayed the wizard she would be set free. Dash was absoluetly enamoured by her and raced off to slay the wizard. Little did we know the trouble waiting for us below. |

We followed a waterfall down. The rocks around us were slippery and dangerous, and the water falling was deafening. We made it down the trecherous slope alive, and found an interesting pool at the bottom. I wanted to walk in a take a look, but Dash and Durka didn't think that was wise. So I stared at the pool for a bit, and moved on with them around it. Eventually we came to a crossing that spanned the river that flowed from the pool that we saw. It was a rickety old bridge- much worse looking than the previous bridge. It was so trecherous looking even I didn't really want to cross it. But Durka said, "Oh it's just a bridge you baby!" And started across. About half way over, the bridge started to collapse, and Durka barely made it to the other side. She tossed a rope back to us, and we tied it strong to something. I was excited, because this looked like a dangerous situation, but Dash went first, hand over hand, accross the rope. "Toss your pack!" They said to me. "It'll make you lighter and easer to cross!" I said, "SCREW THAT I'M FINE!" And started accross. Unfortunately, about half way accross I slipped and landed in the water. The water was swift, and because of all my gear I started drowing. I thought for sure this was the end. All of a sudden, I saw a rope in front of me. I grabbed onto it, and Dash and Durka started the long process of hauling me up the river bank. I laned onshore like a drowned rat, sputtering and soaking wet. Luckily I lost none of my stuff down the swift river. After taking a quick breather, we proceeded along the rock cliff, and went around a bend. A dark lake unfolded infront of us, expanding into the distance much farther than our light. We heard a soft little splash, but thought nothing of it at the time. We proceeded along the cliff, which was about ten feet wide and five feet above the water. Suddenly, we were shot at with a burst of acid! Dash and I ducked out of the way, but the blast hit Durka full on. A black dragon popped its head out of the lake. I quickly found a small rock to hide behind, but Durka and Dash were left out in the open. The dragon spotted them, swooped up onto the ledge, stuck its claws into poor Durka and devoured her in one bite. Dash and I stood stunned as it flew away into the darkness. We remained motionless only for a second however, as we gathered our wits about us and ran like the wind. Dash, the bastard, got to our makeshift rope bridge first, grabbed ahold, and cut the rope before I could grab on, swinging to the other side quickly and climbing up. I angrily secured myself a grapple line and swung myself over, smashing into the other side and climbing up with Dash's help. Bastard. We ran. And ran, and ran until we decided to go back to town and lick our wounds, hopefully finding some more adventures around so we could seek retribution on our poor friend Durka. |
