In The Begining: The Backstreet Boys' Rise To Fame

The Backstreet Boys started out as a trio. Alexander James McLean, Howie Dorough, and Nick Carter started with auditions at Universal Studios at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. The three from Jamestown, NY, Orlando, FL and West Palm Beach, FL kept running into each other during various auditions and they all had a common interest which was singing.

Lexington, KY native Kevin Richardson joined the group after two other boys were ejected from the group. They needed another voice to make the singing group a sure fire thing. Kevin called upon his cousin, Brian Littrell, and asked him to fly out to Florida and audition for the group.

That as they say is history.
