Today is the day, December 27, 1996, that I became a Backstreet Boys fan. I remember the date very well because Kevin, Howie, Brian, AJ and Nick were just starting to be discovered in the rest of Canada.
I celebrate this date with a lot of Backstreet Pride in my heart. I celebrate because it was 5 years ago today that I became a Backstreet Boys fan. I remember with great fondness the day that the Backstreet Boys came to the Muchmusic studio. I watched them in awe and I didn't think very much of them since I was just getting over New Kids On The Block, who had debunct 3 years earlier, and I never thought that I would get over it.
I think I started to really notice the Backstreet Boys in 1996 when I saw the video for Get Down (You're The One For Me) on the Hit List. It was a really well done video. :) Then it was I'll Never Break Your Heart and Quit Playing Games. I have a deep personal connection with the Backstreet Boys because of the video for Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely.
Well it's nearing the end of the year 2001, five years later, and I still don't care about what anyone thinks. I love the Backstreet Boys and there's not a thing that anyone can do about it. :)
