Lindsay, Paris & K-Rich At Hyde

Former Backstreet Boys star Kevin Richardson, Lindsay Lohan and her former pal Paris Hilton were videotaped at Hyde in Hollywood, California on Thursday (July 6). Lindsay hid from the paparazzi, while Paris arrived with her debut single 'Stars Are Blind' cranked, and K-Rich posed for photogs with wife Kristin. Watch footage from TMZ.com.

I am saddened, shocked, and outmost mad at the decision Kevin has made. I am still stunned and cannot express the sadness I feel right now. I heard the rumors myself, but until today, I didn�t believe it to be true. I will continue to support Kevin in whatever he decides to pursue; however, I personally do not agree with his decision.

�After 13 years of what can only be described as a dream come true, I have decided that it is time to leave the Backstreet Boys. It was a very tough decision for me but one that was necessary in order to move on with the next chapter of my life. Howard, Brian, Alex and Nick will always be my little brothers and have my utmost love and support. I would like to thank the Backstreet fans for all the beautiful memories we have shared together and look forward to including you in the next phase of my life. I wish my brothers continued success and look forward to their new album.�

Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Monday night, "The Backstreet Boys' oldest member Kevin Richardson has announced he's leaving the band. Everybody has the same reaction. The Backstreet Boys are still together? I had no idea."

C-SPAN Viewer Wins Essay Contest With Backstreet Boys Poem

The Daily Aztec reports that San Diego State School of Education lecturer Kathleen Holowach, an avid C-SPAN watcher, recently got the chance to participate in her favorite television series. Holowach won an essay contest on "Washington Journal," a C-SPAN show she watches every morning and was chosen to recite her poem, written to the lyrics of the Backstreet Boys' smash hit 'I Want It That Way', on the air. Never Gone: Platinum Status

Foot Injury For AJ McLean

The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that the Backstreet Boys' concert Saturday at Mandalay Bay came seemed to point to an injury to AJ McLean. At the end of the show, the singer was unable to join his bandmates on stage. Instead he sat on the stairs and, after the final bows, hopped off on one foot, helped by a guard.

Timberlake Parties With The Backstreet Boys In Vegas

The Las Vegas Review Journal reports Justin Timberlake, girlfriend Cameron Diaz, Trace Ayala, and actress Elisha Cuthbert were together at a cabana near the deejay booth Saturday night at Pure in Caesars Palace. The *NSYNC star noticed that the Backstreet Boys were at tables on the dance floor, asked a club manager to invite them to his area, and they combined parties. They add that Timberlake and Diaz were spotted the next day playing golf at Southern Highlands.

Backstreet Boys' Fans Connect With Band By Text Messages

Review: "Just Want You To Know" by the Backstreet Boys

Just Want You To Know" is a wise return to the production work of Max Martin in the wake of disappointing sales for the Backstreet Boys' comeback album Never Gone. Max Martin, with collaborator Lukasz Gottwald, is coming off the success of Kelly Clarkson's 2 massive hit singles "Since U Been Gone," and "Behind These Hazel Eyes." It's a familiar, pleasing sound, but it may not be enough to turn the Backstreet Boys' sinking sales fortunes around.
The Backstreet Boys got off to a strong start with "Incomplete," the first single from Never Gone, their first album in over 4 years. The song quickly landed in the top 10 of the Billboard pop singles chart. Sales for the album, however, were disappointing. It debuted at an anemic #3 and after 6 weeks has nearly fallen out of the top 40 of the pop albums chart.In an effort to regain momentum, the second single from the album is "Just Want You To Know," the song that is closest to classic Backstreet Boys sound on the album. It was written and produced by the team of Max Martin, responsible for a number of Backstreet Boys classics, and Lukasz Gottwald, a collaborator with Martin on Kelly Clarkson's hits "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes." The mid-tempo bounce is significantly more upbeat than "Incomplete" and sounds like a boy band.The harmonies on "Just Want You To Know" are impeccable. It is easy to sing along and a pleasant listen. However, it remains an open question whether this single will really be strong enough to turn the group's current fortunes around.

Backstreet Boys Sing Way Back Into Teens' Hearts

John Soeder of the Cleveland Plain Dealer was on hand for the Backstreet Boys for a sold-out performance Tuesday night (July 26) at Tower City Amphitheater. Soeder writes, "BSB just might have a future on the oldies circuit, however. In concert, there was no denying the sugar rush of 'Larger Than Life', 'Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely', 'I Want It That Way' (all together now: 'Tell me why-y!') and other ear-candy anthems from a pre-'American Idol' era. Those were the days when Top 40 artists rolled off a Florida assembly line and dominated the charts with monster songs produced by the Swedish pop mafia." Read more

Jon Pareles of The New York Times was on hand for the Backstreet Boys concert at Radio City Music Hall on Wednesday night (July 27). Pareles writes, "Unlike *NSYNC, the rivals who surpassed them, Backstreet Boys have neither an obvious leader nor a need for self-expression; [Brian] Littrell, the Boys' most prominent lead singer, is no Justin Timberlake, and the group very rarely has a hand in writing its songs. Where *NSYNC chose to keep up with the leaps and quirks of R&B, Backstreet Boys prefer marchlike pop anthems that pledge undying love."

Personal Note

I, like the majority of fans, have been awaiting the release of this album for quite some time now. The smile of my face is surely leaving its mark. I heard the album online numerous times, but now I finally get the chance to pop that CD in my car and blast it as loud as I like. �Never Gone� is simply beautiful and ingenious. I am in high spirits and can�t wait to see what the boys have in store. I have hopes their album will do well in sales. Whatever the outcome, we fans have supported them and will continue to support them, after all, they are not only The Backstreet Boys, but they are our Backstreet Boys.

Lance Bass And Joey Fatone Ponder *NSYNC Reunion Prospects

MTV News caught up with *NSYNC members Lance Bass and Joey Fatone to get their reaction to the Backstreet Boys reforming and whether *NSYNC may follow suit. "We will never be done � it's just one of those breaks where we have to go do other things, especially Justin," Bass said, citing Justin Timberlake's projects in music and film. "It might be five years from now, it might be a year from now, but we will definitely do some more music," he added. "I love that the Backstreet Boys have come back out now and kind of lost that boy-band image. I love the new song, and it gives us hope and inspiration we will have a new album."

I'm not sure if anyone picked up JC's new album "Schizophrenic", but i found it ironic that his album debuted at #17 on the Billboard 100, the same spot as Nick's "Now or Never" (although Nick sold 20,000 more copies). I just hope when the boys plan out the arrival of their album they also plan out a HUGE promo schedule (which I'm sure they will)

Nick Carter Concert.

Well i went to the Nick Carter concert on March 6 in L.A. at the "House Of Blues" on the sunset strip. What can i say, WOW i had a blast. His show was just so good i can't even explain it. He had so much energy and sang so many songs, it was just the best. The house was Packed with screaming fans. I really liked the fact that it wasn't in a large venue, he was literally 20 feet away from me. Howie was also in the audience, he was on the 2nd floor. When Nick sang "I want it that way", "Shape of my heart" and "Quit playing games with my heart" he kept pointing at Howie. Nick also sang with the opening act "SEV" they joined NIck on stage and sang the unrealesed song "Throw your hands up" I can go on, but it would take forever, If you have a chance and can find tickets i really recommend you going.
