The next photos are of a Rotax liquid cooled 582cc.(65 hp)that was in serious need of new gaskets and seals. The pistons were de-carboned.If not caught in time the crank seals can leak and the engine will lean itself out and a sudden stoppage will occur. Not good from "way up there".Rotax recommends this at 150 hours. This one was over 150 hours.
This is a Rotax 582 liquid cooled engine from a powered parachute. It had around 160 hours on it and as you can see it desperately needs new gaskets and seals.
This is one piston from the engine. It shows a build up of carbon. It was de-carboned and a new set of rings were   installed as the old ones were stuck real bad.
The crankcase halves after the first soak. They are soaked twice, later in CLEAN solvent and mating surfaces scrubbed free of any old gasket material.
