March 20th, 2001

Kevin is the fastest thing on hands and knees right now. He loves to race around the house and can climb up the stairs all by himself. He can also get back down them! He loves to get pushed around on his little car. He now has seven teeth and eats everything we do (no more jar food as of December, 2000) and drinks everything out of his sippy cups (no more bottles as of February, 2001). He loves bananas, baked beans and bread!

And, here's the big one- Kevin took his first step on March 4th. He really walked for the first time on March 31. He is just starting to get comfortable letting go of things and walking on his own.

He has said mama and dada, but is just now really starting to attach meaning to them. Dada is definitely Chris, but Mama still means that he needs something (food, sleep, comfort, etc.).

His favorite book right now is a book with soft foam shapes that you can take out. He likes to take them out and chew on them. He understands how books work though. He will pick one up and open it and turn the pages - quite scholarly already.

Kevin loves to go to the park and swing and go on the slides. Also, he has started at a new daycare. He now attends Gateway Academy here in Charlotte. He loves it and told us his favorite part is when he gets to go on the wagon rides around the cafeteria.
