"Richard Inman Sr. Came to America from England where he served as a corporal with Delancey's 1st Battalion during the Revolution (enlisted as a provincial, around Sheepshead Bay on Long Island). He received agrant of land in Kent Parish on Oct 16, 1784. It is probable that Richard was the first settler of Victoria County in the area now known as Kilburn. He served in the Kings New Brunswick Regiment 1793-1802."
