William EVERETT was born in 1787/88 in Milton Bryant, Bedfordshire, England. Paul Mitchell cites 20 Jan 1787 as date of birth. He was christened on 20 Jan 1788 in Milton Bryant, Bedfordshire, England.66 <sources.html> He served in the military between 1804 and 1824. He held the rank of Sergeant. He is believed to have served in the Roayl West India Rangers and was stationed in St. Kitt's before receiving his land grant in New Brunswick. He immigrated in 1824. He received a land grant for his 20 plus years military service, including serving in the War of 1812. This grant is confirmed in the Military Grant of 1825. After 1824 he was "booze" shop owner in Christie's Crossing. He ran a road house, where people ate and stayed over night, about 1 and 1/2 miles north of Andover. According to Paul Mitchell the original basement which he built still stands. He later sold this property to his brother Samuel. He died on 20 Apr 1865 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. This date comes from Ada Elizabeth Everett's notebook and is confirmed by Paul Mitchell. He was buried in Old Burial Ground - Fredericton, NB.
