She was born atGrand Manaan Island, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Howard and Ida(Hume) Urquhart. She worked at Maine Potato Growers egg department beforeher retirement. She is survived by two brothers, Howard Urquhart of ProspectHarbor, Hilldreth and his wife, Ida Urquhart of Raymond; three sisters andtheir husbands, Bettenna and Linwood Scheleber of Portland, Ruby and ChauncyBridges of Brownfield, and Jolene Urquhart of Ellsworth; 10 grandchildrenand their spouses, Michael and Maureen Murchison, Rhonda Cash, Paula andBruce Dyer, Patricia Murchison, Stephen and Kim Murchison, Barbara andRobert Farley, Jacqueline and Troy Morrisette, Shirley, Joy and CherylMurchison; 18 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, severalnieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Murchisontwo sons, Clayton R. "Mike" Murchison and Russell G. Murchison; a brother,Leonard Urquhart; two sisters, Clara Krouse and Shirley Argraves; and agrandson, John Murchison. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m.Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St.,Presque Isle, with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Rideout in 1990Jepthah or Japeth or Japthey Rideout migrated from Maugerville to Carleton County between 1821 and 1826 together with his parents and most if not all his 12 or 13 brothers and sisters. ("The Rideouts" a four page typewritten document from the Family Histories collection, Author not cited, no date, Provincial Archives of New Brunswick [PANB])
In 1851 he petitioned for "about sixty to 100 Acres of Crown Land" in Andover Parish, Victoria County, on the St. John River near Ezekiel Rideout and across from the mouth of the Salmon River. "Petitioner wishes this land on the road system." His age given as 45. (See PANB microfilm F 4243)
Also in 1851 "Japthey" was found living in Perth Parish, in what is now Victoria County, New Brunswick with his wife Ann and children. His neighbour was his father-in-law, George Dixon. He is described as a 42 year old farmer. (See http://www.upperstjohn.com/1851/perth5.htm#13).

By 1861 Jephthah Rideout appears as a 62 year old Baptist farmer residing in Grand Falls Parish, Victoria County, New Brunswick. On 11 January of the same year he petitioned for one hundred acres of land "South of [his father-in-law] Geo Dixons No. 131 Grand Falls." (See PANB 9026). (Grand Falls Parish was created from Andover Parish).
According to Sheila Watson's book her and her siblings were born in Preston, England
