possibly married to Dockendorf?
I have listed William as Alexanders son only because it seems to fit.
I have not found anything that proves this. Alexander's will shows
only Margaret, George, Jane & Lucy. I located a William Merchison
living in Bothwell, Ontario in the 1871 census. It states his birth
was in New Brunswick aprox 1820 (1871 minus his age of 51) There is a
family listed with the name of William Margison in the Andover area
that could be him as well. I recall my father saying along time ago
that some of the family had changed the spelling of the name after
some sort of disagreement. There is also a tombstone inscription that
shows a William Murchison dead at age 51 (28 Nov 1868)
