"Publish Date: Friday, March 22, 2002 LOUISE T. MURCHISON BANGOR and ZEPHYRHILLS, FLA. Louise T. Murchison, 73, died March 18, 2002, in Zephyrhills, Fla. She was born Feb. 23, 1929, in Durham, the daughter of Lottie and Gustave Tardiff. She graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn and married Alton G. Murchison. They were married for 53 years. For many years, Louise worked for Eastern Area Agency on Aging, helping the elderly as information and referral specialist. She was active with the Bangor YWCA, serving on their board of directors and helped start the gift shop there. She was a member of the Women's Golf Association and founded the local YABA (Young American Bowling Assoc.) in Bangor. For more than 30 years, she and her husband, Al were members of the Friday Night Mixed Couples Bowling League at Family Fun Lanes. She is survived by her husband, Al; children, Gail Sumner of Bangor, Gary and his wife, Suzi Murchison of Rome, N.Y., Ellen and her husband, Bill Barry of Wells; three wonderful grandsons, Andy Sumner, Billy and Joey Barry. She is also survived by her sisters, Charlotte Walton of Lisbon, Helen Clifford of Everett, Wash., and Margaret Bullard of Tacoma, Wash., many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a baby daughter, Jill; five brothers, Morris, Joe, Charlie, Larry and Lester; and one sister, Lillian. A celebration of her life will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, with words of remembrance by the Rev. Grace Bartlett of Grace United Methodist Church, at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eastern Area Agency on Aging, 450 Essex St., Bangor, or to a charity of one's choice."2New Brunswick Vital Statistics.
